A few of these pictures are from my first time in front of the camera last summer. And the others are recent.

I swear to you, I'm obsessed with Beetlejuice. I think I have a lot of obsessions actually..but this one is just mild. I like the vibe of the movie. I watch it with my two year old sister all the time because she loves it too. The last picture is a picture of Angelina Jolie at the 1986 Oscar's I believe? It reminded me of Beetlejuice so I decided to post it :3

90's Punk Grunge / Mid 60's Early 70's Hippie era

Like I said before I'm mostly inspired by the 80's fashion era, but something about the Mid 60's early 70's hippie era, and The 90's punk grunge style is so fascinating to me. The way everything is thrown together gives a certain look that I really love. Sky Ferreira is a huge inspiration to me. From her music to her style, she's amazing.
In a way I've incorporated this to my personal style. I don't even know what to call my personal style. It's a handful of things bunched and jumbled together. That's one reason why I named my blog "Rainbow In The Dark" because I feel like I'm a bunch of different cultures, era's, music, art, everything...someone who's really eccentric and bright in the dark world we live in today. Dark meaning negative, and not so supportive of people who like to branch out and just be their own person.

Chanel Three Times

Okay...every time I see something Chanel I feel like I'm losing my breath. I don't know what it is, but I'm obsessing over all things Chanel. The vintage Earrings, Bracelet, and Necklace I found on Freepeople . They're like In the $1,000 price range...yes, $1,000. So They're on my wishlist.

Inspiration Post

(Chanel Couture Spring 2012)

These are a few of my favorites from the Chanel Couture Spring 2012 collection. Personally I liked this collection better than Chanel's Spring 2012 RTW Collection. It's funny because I just started getting into the color blue just recently. I never really liked the color on me, but for some reason I started buying a lot of blue shirts because I realized the color looks good on me. So I'm looking at this collection and most of it is all blue! Blue is more casual kind of, but Karl Lagerfeld did a good job of dressing it up and making it look more formal. It's like the color red. I think red is more of a dressier formal color, and to make it look casual takes some work...sometimes. It depends on what It is. Or maybe it's just me who thinks that? I don't know. But every Chanel collection never ceases to amaze me. It's like..I'm wowed every time and the feeling is so amazing. It makes me want just about everything from every single collection.
(Oversized Cardigan- Urban Outfitters, Shorts- Thrift Store, Shirt- Thrift Store, Tights- Walmart, Scarf- Thrift Store)

On a walk home from school, the weather was beautiful that day. This is my favorite Cardigan. It's really warm but i't get's so itchy so it's kind of annoying at times. But I got it on sale last year in February. I love high waisted shorts also. I thrifted a whole bunch of pairs in the summer, and jeans that I cut into shorts.

Beginning

I'm extremely excited to finally start a fashion blog, I've been wanting to do this since I was like 12. Well, here's a little bit about me...My name is Kalaeja but I mainly go by Lay. I live in California and I'm 16 years old. I'm a Junior in High School and I love Fashion. I've wanted to model since I was 10, and become a fashion designer since I was about 12. The era's in fashion that inspire me the most are 50's-80's era. Mainly the 80's. I swear I was born in the wrong time period. If I could live in the 80's I would. Hmm..art and writing are my main hobbies. I love to draw, and I write poetry. After high school I plan to attend FIDM in La, and major in Fashion Design. Fashion Is what I know the most about..it's a huge part of me that I want to share with everyone else..and I want to be able to look back on my blog years from now and see how far I've came since this post!
